Annieglass is handcrafted in California by Ann Morauser and her team of artisans. Although raised in New Jersey, Ann moved to California to pursue her art. Since 1983, her designs have been made with 24 carat gold, platinum or metallic glazes. Although known for these precious metal trimmings, she also has collections that are available without metallic trim which lend themselves to a more casual atmosphere. Annieglass can be seen in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum as well as in the finest restaurants. Each piece carries an engraved signature, and as a result of grinding the edges, Annieglass is more chip resistant than fine china or stoneware.
With a broad range of patterns, it is easy to create an interesting table service mixing Annieglass with other collections. Ann is inspired by the ocean and seaside, which is apparent in many of her designs. Organic shapes and colors lend themselves to making a dramatic statement with just a piece or two.
