Michael Aram Serveware

Michael Aram is probably best known for his large assortment of serveware.  His principal material is stainless steel, which he frequently has nickleplated, oxidized or goldplated to create a distinct aesthetic.  What makes his collection so interesting is the mixing of other materials with metal – marble, glass, enameled aluminum, to name a few.  Cheeseboards, cake stands, bowls, pitchers, platters, ice buckets – along with all the serving utensils you may need for them – are the signature components of his various design motifs.  You’ll even find oven-to-table porcelain bakers with beautiful holders to place on your table.

Michael Aram Dinnerware, Glassware, Flatware

Michael Aram expanded his collection in recent years to include dinnerware.  Each pattern is designed to complement his core serveware collections, and range from ultra-contemporary to updated traditional.  Michael Aram dinnerware is made in Portugal, most patterns using Limoges porcelain.  Those without metallic decoration are dishwasher and microwave safe, making them ideal for everyday use.

Following the introduction of dinnerware, Michael Aram added glassware and flatware, again as complements to his core collections.  Glassware is hand-blown in the Czech Republic, and flatware is 18/10 stainless steel, European sized.  You’ll find patterns unlike any others in the marketplace.

Michael Aram Decoratives

Another component of Michael Aram’s vast collection are decoratives.  Frames, vases, candleholders, canisters, napkin or paper towel holders – perfect to add a special touch to any location.   He uses his signature motifs to grace these useful items.  Judaica is also available using his most popular designs for key holidays.

Michael Aram History

Michael Aram is an American designer who studied fine arts in New York, and was trained as a painter, sculptor, and art historian.  While on a trip to India, he was inspired by metalworking artisans whose craft was handed down through generations.  He set up a home and shop there in 1989, and began a collection of tableware that is now sold throughout the world.

Due to the nature of handmade articles, no two pieces are identical.  Each piece can stand alone as a beautiful, functional work of art, or can be mixed effortlessly with other tableware collections.  The variety of themes he creates vary from organic to ultra-modern urban chic, allowing his collection to appeal to a wide variety of tastes.
